• Picknett & Bexon (1977) described there are two extreme

modes of droplet evaporation:

1. Constant contact radius mode.

2. Constant contact angle mode.

Stauber et al. 2004

• In practice, the duration of

constant contact angle mode is

short.

• Wettability, roughness, initial

contact angle will affect life time.

• Coffee ring effect: A ring which is

left by the single liquid after

evaporation.

• The liquid in the center flow

toward edges.

• Particle within the fluid will stick

to the surface.

• Changing the particle or droplet

geometry can suppressed the
